Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP for the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she dropped new music through the internet including Bound. On July 21st, 2015, Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat with Cozz. She released Pho, her debut EP on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was supported by EarthGang. The singer also performed in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus with Bas, her labelmates. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream dropped on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a a music video. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. She then appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album the same name. In February of 2019, a music video was released for the song. The track has received more than 3 millions views on YouTube within its initial week. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
